I’m a commercial lawyer, specialising in intellectual property and technology-related contracts.

I work in the in-house legal team at the Financial Times, having joined the FT after working in private practice for my preceding career. It goes without saying that anything posted on here is entirely my own and does not represent the views of the Financial Times. Nor (obviously) does anything on here constitute legal advice.

Don’t expect a regular flow of posts from here: this is mostly as an overspill for anything that won’t fit into 140 characters. I’m more active on Twitter, as @johnhalton.

Why “Back to the Thames”? Because I work with my back to the Thames…
